February Days

The nights are freezing and the winds are harsh during the day. I have to bundle up for my walks to work. Thick socks, scarf, mittens, and hat. It’s truly winter, so different from the beginning of the month. It was in the seventies and sunny. It was the perfect weather for a trip to the beach and some of my favorite moments were:

Toes squishing in the sand.

Eating clam chowder with lumps of crap on top.

Sitting outside next to the fire pit, enjoying easy conversation while looking at the stars.

Family dinners and playing games.

How I cherish it all the more now that I sit here bundled in my sweater.

The great thing about this weather is that it sure gets me in the mood to knit. I currently have three projects going, a pair of socks and two reversible toys (a mouse that turns into a cat and a lion that turns into a mouse). I also got a fat quarter bundle of Menagerie from Rifle Paper Co. which I’m using for the Sienna Burst Quilt Along.

Lastly, I got an illustrated portrait done by Andsmile Studio! I adore it so much. It was the best thing I bought all February!

I hope you all had a wonderful month! I’m looking forward to all that March and spring has to offer!

Happy Making!
