Hello 2017!

Hello 2017! The end of 2016 has been a bit chaotic, but in a good way. There was the rush to buy all my presents, get them wrapped, prep for holiday meals, and hanging out with family from out of town. With the new year here, I feel like I can relax. Some highlights from the holidays: making tamales with the family, just hanging out on the couch with my sister watching movies, celebrating my grandparents’ anniversary of 61 years of marriage, making progress on knitting my Icelandic sweater, and all the family meals.

The Christmas decorations are put away, the Christmas tree gone, the lights taken down. Another holiday gone but a new year with new possibilities ahead. I’ve got my goals for the year and know which steps I need to take to accomplish them. They are not grand goals but realistic ones–ones that will challenge me but that I can attain. Some of these goals include no social media on the weekends, writing a thank you letter a week, and writing and knitting daily. I’m looking forward to all the progress 2017 will bring!
