Lake Tahoe to San Diego

What is summer without a vacation? I spent the last week in South Lake Tahoe and then went to San Diego Comic-Con. It was lots of fun, but now I’m still recovering and in desperate need to do laundry. However, I’m stalling on doing the laundry by writing this post. It so much more fun to look at pictures than to fold clothes!

Before going to Tahoe we made a stop to Old Sacramento to get candy (okay, we stopped for lunch but candy was also a necessity). I got chocolate raisins because I have a thing for them. What can I say–I’m a valley girl at heart.

Look at us, already pooped and thinking, “Are we there yet?”

I loved walking on these wooden planks and having them creak under my feet. You can’t have an old town without creaky floors!

After another two hours we finally made it to Tahoe! We rented a cabin that felt secluded but was still very close to everything.

The trees surrounding our cabin. Great for squirrel watching!

I highly recommend the Taylor Creek Visitor Center which has some great trails with amazing views.

From the picture you can clearly tell we were ready to hit Pope Beach after our hike.

Honestly, this view!

Greenery everywhere!

After a hike one must of course cool off by the lake. Although I only put my feet in the water as it was way too cold for me but not for this kid.

The perfect spot to read.

I am that person who takes pictures of their food. We ate at Riva Grill which is a great spot if you want waterfront dining.

And then it was off to Comic-Con! I was only ever first in line for one thing and that was to go through the Kong: Skull Island exhibit which resulted in a very cool safari style backpack. Basically Comic-Con is great for getting free things you don’t really need.

Every morning, the streets are calm.

And then madness! The exhibit hall–how I love and hate you. I have never felt more squished than when inside you but you also result in some amazing free items like a Vikings drinking horn.

Crowds and more crowds.

Out of all the panels I went to, my favorite was listening to Congressman John Lewis discuss March. I got this very blurry picture and lots of inspiration.

I fought Captain Hook. I swear I am not this tiny in real life!

And here is me doing a somewhat decent warrior cry. Also, it is proof that San Diego weather does not get along with my hair.

Fun times but now I’m back and still have that laundry to do. Eventually I will have to change out of yoga pants to real clothes.

Well, I hope you are having a wonderful summer too and remember to keep up with your laundry!
